HOF: Adoniram Judson

On Wednesday, our church put on a play about the life of Adoniram Judson. It's always inspiring to learn about the lives of these Heroes of the Faith, and Mr. Judson was a great man who obeyed God's calling on his life and became the first American missionary to go to a foreign land to reach the Burmese for Christ. The play really turned out well, and it was super fun just WATCHING it this time!!! Here are a few pictures from the practice and the play.

Isaiah, Daniel and David before the play

Wholeheartedly singing from backstage. Notice Matthias' new do.

Yeah, Joseph unknowingly gets the bunny ears...

...then Isaiah gets them back. Way to go, Joseph.

Sarah was young Adoniram's sister, and they both did a great job. In this scene, Adoniram was proving how smart he was, and Sarah sums it up, "You are so smart!" haha

"Adoniram" and his friend "Jacob" discuss what to do to make life fun and exciting.

"Adoniram" meets his future wife, Ann. He is of course entranced by her unique ability to fill their dainty teacups, though he prefers not to show his overpowering interest...

"Ann" (Jem) is stunned by the letter her father reads, announcing Adoniram's intentions.
Man. In a letter?

Mr. Wong delighted all with his stunning performance as a Burmese native.

Yeah, it kinda looks like Eric is shoving poor Isaiah--but y'all know that looks can be deceiving. It's actually the other way around. These intimidating Burmese soldiers could scare just about anyone, and yet Ann is smiling in the background, not even caring that her "husband" is being messed with by these hooligans. What can I say?

The once intimidating Burmese are now cowering in the presence of a British commander. Uh oh.

And this is the man they're scared of. James sported an unique mustache... quite interesting. :) It's a pretty good look, though, wouldn't you say? His British accent was pretty cool, too.

Ellie, Nevaeh and I after the play. She's such a sweetie!

    1. Haha some people who will remain nameless were waving at her and making sad faces backstage. So it really didn't help matters. And may I remark on the last photo? It was clearly taken by an incredibly talented professional. Just look at the lighting and angle! Clearly a masters work ;)
