The Three Ouches

Kelly took this video, and we wanted to share it with y'all. It's pretty funny.
Danny still laughs his head off whenever he sees it!

Farm Babies

Jet taking a break in the shade

When I got to the barn, I found it was naptime, and most of them were sleeping. Can you find the third kid?

They woke up, and decided it was time to play.

Lily just lambed on Tuesday, and loves him an awful lot.

This is Holly, our only ewe lamb.

Once the lamb jumped off, Jacinth was quick to jump on.

The tractor just got new tires yesterday, after one blew. Don't they look nice? They even smell good.

And this is the new henhouse; we call it the Chicken Chalet.

I would have gotten more shots- I mean pics- of the kids, but they don't hold still or pose for the camera.
Super excited for the pasture grass to grow!!

HOF: Onesimus Nesib

Yesterday was the second Heroes of the Faith play, and this time it was on a Bible translator from Ethiopia, named Onesimus Nesib. He was a slave, until someone freed him and sent him to live with some Swedish missionaries. Once he became a Christian, he realized the need of his people to hear about Jesus, and so he went to evangelize them.
It was a really good night, and it was cool because Nesib's great-grandson was there and he gave a little talk about his great-grandfather's life. It was really inspiring to hear about this great man of the faith...he had a HUGE influence on Christianity in Africa. From what I understood, he began a church there with literally millions of members. Just goes to show what God can do with your life if you're willing to let Him lead!

Here are some pictures, first from the play and then the fellowship afterwards. :)

Little Onesimus right before he is taken from his mother (Tenneal). Tenneal did a great job freaking out after she realized "her baby" was gone. ;)

Onesimus (Daquan) gets sold to the master (Matthias) who frees him and sends him to the Swedish missionaries. In this scene, the slave master (Isaiah) shows off his great build and nice teeth... lol

Onesimus expresses his desire to be baptized and return to his people.

Onesimus and his "wife" (Dev) meet up with their friends (and some camels)
to take the trip across the desert.

Discussing the desert heat :)

The travellers became ill and delirious, and here the doctor (Eric)
fantasizes about making snake salad. (?) haha

Onesimus (Kyle) is now a little bit older and wiser. Here they're working on a translation.
Carrie was awesome.

He teaches some of his students about the wise man and Psalm 1.

Brianna starred as the archbishop, and she and her costume
(notice the beautiful, feminine mustache...) were amazing!

Onesimus feels sick, and staggers past part of his congregation...

...and dies. :( A little too graphic. (The doctor realizes after about one second of examining him that there is nothing he can do, and walks out with his nurse (David). Yeah, nice, Daniel.)

The cast.

Onesimus' great-grandson

These sweet ladies, Ethiopian sisters, sang a song that Onesimus wrote.

Joseph

Trying out stylish costumes :)

Rachel, Liz and Jaquel.

Mr. Blesi is shocked at what Iiya is telling him...

If Dad hadn't made this face on purpose, I wouldn't be putting it up here...
but since he did, I get to. :) Love it.

The delicious victuals. Well, I can't say the food was delicious, because I didn't eat...but I'm sure it was pretty good. But if you ask me, playing football and frisbee in the parking lot is worth missing it.

Mr. Blesi successfully photobombs a picture of Joseph and Matthias.

Rachel is lovingly reminded that it's time to go.

Mom, Mrs. Holmquist, and Miss Shelia.

Annie and Hannah pose for the cam.

And last, but definately not least, the two Sarah's.

All in all, it was a great night, and if you missed it, bummer. It was awesome. And, if you feel left out, there's another one coming up on March 28th. :)

HOF: Adoniram Judson

On Wednesday, our church put on a play about the life of Adoniram Judson. It's always inspiring to learn about the lives of these Heroes of the Faith, and Mr. Judson was a great man who obeyed God's calling on his life and became the first American missionary to go to a foreign land to reach the Burmese for Christ. The play really turned out well, and it was super fun just WATCHING it this time!!! Here are a few pictures from the practice and the play.

Isaiah, Daniel and David before the play

Wholeheartedly singing from backstage. Notice Matthias' new do.

Yeah, Joseph unknowingly gets the bunny ears...

...then Isaiah gets them back. Way to go, Joseph.

Sarah was young Adoniram's sister, and they both did a great job. In this scene, Adoniram was proving how smart he was, and Sarah sums it up, "You are so smart!" haha

"Adoniram" and his friend "Jacob" discuss what to do to make life fun and exciting.

"Adoniram" meets his future wife, Ann. He is of course entranced by her unique ability to fill their dainty teacups, though he prefers not to show his overpowering interest...

"Ann" (Jem) is stunned by the letter her father reads, announcing Adoniram's intentions.
Man. In a letter?

Mr. Wong delighted all with his stunning performance as a Burmese native.

Yeah, it kinda looks like Eric is shoving poor Isaiah--but y'all know that looks can be deceiving. It's actually the other way around. These intimidating Burmese soldiers could scare just about anyone, and yet Ann is smiling in the background, not even caring that her "husband" is being messed with by these hooligans. What can I say?

The once intimidating Burmese are now cowering in the presence of a British commander. Uh oh.

And this is the man they're scared of. James sported an unique mustache... quite interesting. :) It's a pretty good look, though, wouldn't you say? His British accent was pretty cool, too.

Ellie, Nevaeh and I after the play. She's such a sweetie!
